Man Caves!

Last November we were asked to participate in an episode

of Man Caves on the DIY Network!

Along with our friends at CT Contracting we completed this

absolute dream of a man cave outfitted with five flat screen t.v.'s

a pool table, stadium seating, and a rotating platform!

This particular episode was sponsored by the NFL Network.

We taped out the floor and cut custom stencils to paint

the turf with field details.

What football inspired room would be complete without cheerleaders?

Authentic stadium seats were brought in.

Not only did the room include several flat screen t.v.'s,

but a projector was installed as well!

Meet the crew: Jason Cameron, a very skilled contractor who

works hard on all of his projects. He was very much involved

in every aspect of the build.

The film crew: These guys are all over the place, covering shots

you would never think to get and working seamlessly together.

Tony Siragusa: The Goose, at one point this guy showed

up with an actual Raven on his arm! He took the homeowner

under his wing, which included a trip to the Redskins practice

field for a day. (Yes, he is a solid foot taller than me)

Swaziland

Laura M. Interiors goes to Swaziland?!

Well, not exactly...but we were thrilled to have the opportunity to work in the Embassy of the Kingdom of Swaziland last year. After the building suffered water damage we were brought in to repair several existing finishes:

In the upper foyer we matched existing faux, Imperial Green Marble columns as well

as the intricate crown molding.

In another room we matched a historical glaze on the detailed crown molding.

Urban Chic's 'Runway to Happiness'!

Urban Chic put on yet another amazing event!

On Sept. 30th some of the hottest fall fashions came down the runway to

live music and a huge crowd.

There were even a few local celebrities in the attendance.

There was an artist on site creating a work of art using only Cover Girl Make up!

Chef Duff Goldman from Bravo's Ace of Cakes strutted his stuff down the runway

and I had a chance to chat with Mary Amons from The Real Housewives of DC.

Jenna Bush Hager (not pictured) even came out to show her support.

The event was held in Baltimore at the American Visionary Art Museum which benefited from the evening. Be sure to visit the Urban Chic near you for all the seasons best fashions! See below for a peak at their stores and some of the work we have done inside.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition, Baltimore

We were hard at work on this project! The team of artists did an outstanding job putting in hours and hours of work under the most extreme conditions. The end result?.....well worth the effort! You will have to tune in to see the final results. The show will air on September 26th, the season premier!

After a meeting with the Extreme design team we were ready to begin and waiting for the call.

The reveal date had to be pushed back after a storm rolled through and soaked everything. ABC even got a few celebrities on board! The rapper Xzibit was there putting his contracting skills to work. He was such a pro on the build site one contractor

offered him a job on the spot, not realizing he already had a lucrative career in music.

Jillian Harris from the bachelorette was also there putting the finishing touches on one of the rooms.

Hard at work in the 'watercolor' room. This room included several origami birds that would hang over the bed. The room was designed for the oldest girl in the house and was to inspire flight as a metaphor for moving forward in life.

The 'chalkboard' room was designed for creativity. The walls were painted in chalkboard paint and for added interest we drew decorative elements all over.

The 'Katy Perry' room was designed to inspire dreams. This room was covered in colorful wall vinyl and has several hand painted accessories including ribbon candy chairs and tables painted like giant cakes!

The 'Paris' room was designed to re-create a french bakery. The father of the young woman who would

occupy this room was a chef and this was in honor of him. We put a funky stenciled pattern on one wall and an old world texture finish on another. The room even had a cupcake display!

It was truly remarkable how many people came together to build this house!

The basement was to serve as the lounge area for the girls. Hand painted frames went up in the computer room.

The accent wall was painted in a pink geometric pattern. The design team constructed

modern curved telephone booths that we painted in corresponding purple patterns.
